This will be the first time that an Optimist Creations production participates at the Edinburgh Fringe - at the new Greenside Nicolson Square venue - and it will be our first collaboration with theatre director Ros Philips.
In The Sonneteer two contemporary characters delve into the past to explore what drove the now celebrated playwright, poet and actor to compose a suite of sonnets about beauty, life and the passage of time and address them to a handsome young man. In the process, they discover a fascinating, plausible truth about love.
There will be two London previews, at the Landor Theatre, on the 18th and 19th July, before the production goes up to Edinburgh for a full Festival run from 1st to 23rd August 2014.
Tickets for all performances are now available and there's a special, celebratory Early Bird offer with 154 tickets priced at 450 pence, to celebrate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth.
