the videos on this page are effectively random studies and experiments: you could call it ‘playing around’.  while they have no intrinsic purpose or value, they’re still a useful part of the process of becoming a filmmaker and media creator.  they’re perhaps a little like the exercises or studies a composer would write on their way to the symphony, or the writer’s poems that intersperse their more majestic work...

the hardware:

the videos you see in this selection have mostly been shot on mini-DV with simple sony DCR-PC120E handycam, except ‘urbanscape I’, for which i used an even simpler canon MD205, and ‘dona nobis pacem’ , which was shot on a sony XDR-XR520 VE high definition camera...
